Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle, surrounding a central depiction of a sea mine exploding, the reverse with a block hinge and banjo style pinback meeting a flattened and rounded catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of a Type 4 badge
