Everyone likes smooth roads but no one likes road construction.
After all, road constructions slow us down, are messy and inconvenient, and whether we like it or not, they often take us on detours.
But road constructions are necessary to achieve the end goal of smooth roads.
In a similar way, that’s what disappointments are like.
Disappointments can be unexpected, are often messy and are nearly always painful.
Sometimes they make no sense at all, and they usually take us on detours.
But disappointments are a part of life- and even these disappointments are a part of the bigger picture that helps us get to where we need to be.
How do you handle disappointments?
If you seem stuck on a detour, try to reframe your detour with a new set of understanding.
- Hit your “pause button” and think it through and pray it through
- Talk to a trusted friend who will shoot straight with you
- Take action!
“If you learn to use it right, the adversity, it will buy you a ticket to a place you couldn’t have gone any other way.”
